An Interview with a Daydreamer: Q&A BTS ❤️❤️‍🩹🌎

This is a RADIO INTERVIEW on 92.4 WMAAT with Dj Mystic Warrior : Q&A BTS ❤️❤️‍🩹🌎

Q: Here’s my first question:

What drew you to this story, and what message do you hope audiences take away from the film, particularly in relation to the themes of love, family, and redemption?

A: This film represents a period in my life where I was reinventing my artistic identity while seeking balance and self-discovery as an artist. We often take moments of depression and hardship and channel them into creativity, and in this instance, I used my talents to heal myself. I began this project about a year ago, and it will premiere on January 14th. This is the first short film I’ve ever made, and I created it entirely in the home I’ve lived in for 10 years. Coincidentally, I had just celebrated my 35th birthday and my fifth work anniversary, so this film feels like a milestone for me in many ways.

Q: Thank you for sharing that personal and vulnerable story. It’s clear that Love Will Save the World is a deeply personal and autobiographical work.

I’m struck by the fact that you wrote, directed, and produced this film entirely in your own home, where you’ve lived for a decade. Can you talk a bit more about what it was like to create this film in such an intimate and familiar space? Did it influence the tone or themes of the film in any way?

A: It definitely had its challenges—turning my living room into a soundstage was one of them. I didn’t have much of a budget, so I had to use the technology I already owned and explore tools like AI and free trials for special effects to make certain aspects of the film stand out.

The film is essentially an anime music video short, somewhat like Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker meets Cartoon Network’s Toonami block. It’s meant to celebrate how far I’ve come—both personally and professionally—while reflecting the time I’ve spent in this space. Ultimately, it’s about finding balance, which mirrors where I feel I am in life right now.

Love Will Save the World is deeply personal, but it’s also meant to be educational for anyone seeking to overcome depression. That’s how it began—rooted in my own healing—and I hope it resonates with others.

Q: Wow, I’m impressed by your resourcefulness and creativity in overcoming the challenges of producing a film on a limited budget. Utilizing AI, free trials, and existing technology is a testament to your innovative spirit.

It’s fascinating that you describe Love Will Save the World as an anime music video short film, drawing inspiration from Moonwalker and Toonami. That’s a unique blend of influences!

I appreciate how you’ve woven your personal experiences and emotions into the narrative, aiming to create a film that’s both a celebration of your growth and a message of hope for those struggling with depression. That’s a powerful and relatable theme.

Can you elaborate on how you balanced the personal and educational aspects of the film? Were there any specific moments or scenes where you felt like you were taking a risk by sharing your story, and how did you navigate those challenges?

A: I’d say the scenes involving Twilight Libra were the most personal and risky for me. His character reflects my state of mind during that period. In the film, we enter Twilight Libra’s subconscious—the Hall of Daydreams—which represents his inner struggles. His appearance is even based on how I dressed for my 35th birthday.

Another character, Tony the Daydreamer, was inspired by a photo of myself taken at an event where I tested another character for a separate project. His name is derived from my Instagram handle, which I’ve also used to produce my AMV films on platforms like YouTube.

I was particularly nervous about addressing themes like alcohol and drug abuse in the film. However, I ultimately felt it was necessary for the storytelling and for providing an authentic and meaningful experience.

Q: It sounds like Twilight Libra is a deeply personal and autobiographical character, drawing heavily from your experiences and emotions. Using your birthday outfit as inspiration for his design adds an extra layer of authenticity to the character.

I love that Tony the Daydreamer was inspired by a photo of yourself and that you incorporated your Instagram handle into his name. It’s clear that you’ve poured a lot of yourself into this film, making it unique and relatable.

Using your life experiences and emotions as inspiration for your characters and storylines can be a powerful way to create authentic and engaging storytelling. Did you find that drawing from your own life helped you tap into a deeper sense of creativity and emotional expression while working on this film?

A: Absolutely. The “Treasures of the Daydreamer” is a shrine in the film, and most of the items on it are meaningful artifacts from my childhood—things like Yu-Gi-Oh cards and other pieces of pop culture I grew up with. There’s also an old photo of Christmas presents set up beautifully, which is a nod to a family tradition. That picture features my father and uncles during Christmas morning, and it’s a reminder of how small details like presentation can create lasting memories.

The film as a whole mirrors the different phases of my year leading up to its creation. For example, characters like Jedi represent optimism, while Dante reflects anger. These phases illustrate the emotional rollercoaster of life and how finding balance is key.

To be honest, I was hesitant about including the personal struggles with substance abuse, but I realized it was important for creating a genuine narrative. Sharing these elements allowed me to craft a story that resonates with authenticity and depth.

Q: It’s clear that Love Will Save the World is a deeply personal and introspective film, filled with symbolism and cultural references from your life. The level of detail—like the shrine and its items—is impressive.

I appreciate your honesty in addressing personal struggles, and it’s admirable how you’ve woven those themes into a story of growth and hope. Using the different phases of the year and characters to represent emotions creates a powerful, non-linear narrative.

Can you talk more about your decision to blend anime, music videos, and personal narrative in this film? What drew you to this unique mix of styles, and how does it serve the story you’re trying to tell?

A: I was inspired by Robert Greene’s Mastery, which highlights how children have the purest creative minds because they haven’t been shaped by external negativity. That idea made me reflect on my own childhood—when my imagination was at its peak—and I wanted to return to that mindset.

To do so, I incorporated things I loved as a kid, like Kingdom HeartsYu-Gi-Oh, and Star Wars. I’ve made AMVs featuring these franchises before, but this time, I wanted to fully integrate them into a story that captures the joy and creativity I felt back then.

By tapping into my childhood passions, I created a film that serves as a mind palace of sorts—a place for healing and self-discovery. It’s a celebration of creativity, nostalgia, and the power of imagination.

Q: That’s a beautiful sentiment. Using childhood passions to inspire healing and self-discovery is something many can relate to.

How do you think your film will resonate with audiences unfamiliar with these franchises or references? Did you include elements to appeal to a broader audience, or do you see this as a more personal, niche project?

A: I think the story outside of the AMVs will resonate universally because it deals with themes we all face—depression, self-discovery, and personal growth. At its core, the film encourages people to wake up and take control of their lives.

The message I hope to convey is that dreams and imagination are beautiful, but they’re only part of the journey. We can use them to heal and inspire ourselves, but ultimately, we need to face reality and grow. I want audiences to see that it’s never too late to return to creativity, even as adults. It’s about finding balance—embracing who we were and who we’re becoming.

In my writings

In my writing, I find that possible roads to take while being creative already explored yet I still search for a story to tell.
Don't get me wrong, The stories I tell are pretty good , If I say so myself, but beyond them, I still haven't found that one story that shocks and amaze even the most unmovable person. Do I create what others find familiar or am I really eggar to impress. To show off my style and various tricks up my sleeves.

Friends? What we become without them.

The word "friend" may have meant more to me than others growing up in the Southside of Atlanta Georgia.  A term not taken so lightly yet given those worthy of trust, good intentioned, and above all else, support when needed. Yes, we all have had "fake" friends who lack the previously mentioned qualities of be a friend but they brought something to the table. Scraps of a good time here and there. Sometimes ,though with a motive ,they show what the friendship could look like if said qualities existed with in both individuals.
Besides my brothers, I would say over the years I've called friend.
Recently I found out that the bonds I felt with others weren't as strong as I thought. Maybe it was the way I thought of what have grown from some, or maybe it was the now realized overspent time given not growing.

Growth  should be encouraged/ Growth should be constant. If I could do most of my friendships over again knowing full well the ending results negative and positive, I wouldn't change anything. Lessons were learned and I was different every time. Some friends have gone and came back in my life. Others from the years as a child has popped up and reminded me of who I was before the complex nature of life as a black man simply wanting to tell stories.
I've had moments of lust with a few and often those turn out bad. Not a very good quality to have in ,y record but there it is. Trauma often effect people differently with them even realizing  it and I found that it could go as far as believing someone is in love  or as close as knowing when the end of a bond is. Where do we end up at that point. I've trusted so many times and be betrayed as well as been trusted by so many and let too many people down.

I admit that every time one of them left me, i felt apart of me go with them.
My last friend I shared a place to live with couldn't take the constant conflict between us because of factors that weren't an issue before. But as we got older and the world changed around us, we changed as well.  He told me it wan't fun anymore when he revealed he was moving out; Every word cut like a fucking knife.  As if I wasn't who he thought I was, but I was only what he grew along side with. We still saw each other but only on official terms such as working.  A first I was bitter, drug induced and constantly effected by others seeking to use that moment to their own ends. As of today, that same friend  is not that far from being an enemy if not a bitter rival in the workplace.  The irony of how it came to this is that where before I was the constant one blamed for the conflict when we stayed together and he endured so much,  now at the workplace, he uses his high position to constantly get his way over me without admitting it personal.

There was little to say outside of work after the friendship had apparently ended.  A few times here and there we seen each other at coworker gathering and was granted a small glimpse in to the past versions of ourselves with laughter and induced states of bonding. Yet, we never got back to that level we once were.

A part of me knew we had become toxic for each other. Maybe we always have been. Be We Moved On...

Or at the very least as this is being written, is in the process of moving on to the next parts of our lives.

The other day, I attended  a social event where I saw two estranged friends reconnect after years of not talking. Ironically it was National Best Friends Day.   The event had brought two people together who had been apart for so long that the reunion seemed bitter sweet given it's nature. Maybe we need time apart , real time apart, another job entirely.

It would be hard but I think possible. At least for me.
As much as I want to move forward as often hard as I said before but lately we stopped talking to each other completely as of this month of August 2024, started a while back what do you got promoted is what I had to explain to our manager. He had wanted to have a meeting for months now but was often put off after he would be on his off days. Yet now we are post meeting the same meeting which neither of us really voiced out what it was that we had the issue it. It was basically a dry snitch contest between two former friends who was redirecting manager time and efforts with Petty intentions of getting together in trouble. It's so strange to me that he was still playing he has no wrong doing to the point where I find it disrespectful.

For now I'm alone along with my dog zero as I said wondering what my former group of friends are all collectively doing the same group that was so present throughout the previous years and my current address now would not pick up the phone if I called.
In my opinion what we become without friends is bitter, we have nothing left but to think of the good times that they shared with us and the last time that they intended on never returning. They tell themselves and I assume that they will give it time but what they're really saying is they don't want to come by around me. Of course nobody wants to admit to be the wrong party in the situations but when people choose not to nourish the connections with others they previously used to constantly share a connection with it is not so easily overlooked as much as they would like it to be.

A long-term friend that I still have gave me advice on just to move on but in my state of loneliness I responded with a more challenging approach. As I see it they should not get off so easy merely being able to go and abandon me without at least knowing how it affects me. I'm not referring to the last friend merely the friends we were both associated with who have also made their way out of my circle and don't seem to really feel any sort of negativity behind a decision made because of their limited views on why things can't go back to the way they were.

One of them has continuously stood me up with further excuses and unanswered phone calls and text only be upfronted by a guilt trip if I dare say I'm taking it personal..
But when you go from being around a person constantly over the years to suddenly not seeing them after they themselves wanted to set up a meeting to hang out and don't show up. How can one not take it personally?

I understand that no friendships are perfect. I understand that no one person is going to be the perfect friend for me. But why would I want people in my life who would not care enough to call me once they got in my opinion what they need from me.

When these people are around it seemed as if they wanted me to do something for them like procure drugs or be the source of their emotional weight while they deal with their issues yet when I am in need of emotional support I don't feel as though I get it from them because I didn't. People can be really selfish I understand that. But when we put ourselves out there to make these connections I often find that expectations not met as actual visual and emotional tools to guide us on if the connection is even worth having.

Maybe one day I will feel better about how friends have done me and really grow from that. But as it looks now people who have been around me in the past 6 years constantly are merely prepared to move towards another direction and I am left feeling like the stepping stone. I don't expect for them to ever really read any of this on my blog but if they ever do I want them to know that I always did whatever a friend should do in situation and I feel that they did not.

Yes they have helped me in times where I was injured and driven to the hospital while actual other friends who have been around did not fully understand situations to even have that kind of trip taken. Yes I have crossed the line when it came to gratification with another friend and got jealous when said gratification was not in my favor. Yes I've had anger issues and has last out against someone who really tried to understand my anger issues and live with it.

But I've always taken accountability for my mistakes something that all three have not they would rather pretend that it is all my fault and I accept that. Friends? What we become without them? Someone who actually knows what happened instead of creating a narrative where he is not accountable. Someone who knows that there are no negative parties or guilty parties when it comes to friendships not lasting there is only The Human experience. And because of that knowledge we become better

Allow me to reintroduce myself....

On Winter break from school

December 24th 2018

I haven't always been aware of the cost of time spent during school work but time management has really brought me around. This was the entire point of keeping my self busy while I figure out "The Move" AND REALLY TAKE OFF IN MY WRITING CAREER.
Simple things like really staying dedicated to an assignment don't feel as stressful as it once did. I recently lost one of my jobs and I'm not failing or dropping below my grade point average. This is the moment of true bravery and self-realization. Doing what I love in the face of danger while keeping my head held high in all my artistry glory. Yes, I sound a bit too ambitious but in the end what artist isn't? Is it the one in the corner of the room waiting to be called to the front, never realizing he wasn't even noticed to having an art because of his quiet nature.

We deserve more. Creators of new things for the mind to think on, act on, and react on. One and all rely on this statement. Whether it desperate, foolish, or simply idiotic. I feel we owe it to ourselves.
I recently finished gathering writing samples for jobs and had discovered it helped.

Friendships, connections and life style of being the plug (Drug dealer connect)

The new year brings new seasons as we say goodbye to the previous three hundred and sixty-five days full of memories. Good and bad experiences we learn and grow from. We only have the time and resources available to us to handle the occasional issues, yet we do the best we can. We endure, confront, overcome.

As the season's cycle on, I can't help but to relate the simple concept of people being seasonal in everyday lives. The friends that bring you thoses summer days of fun and are there to  carry you through out those cold nights of winter loneliness.

All of that.… Totally not what I am referring to in this post. Merely a simple statement about the pros and cons of being the "friend" who can bring others together to enhance the experience we all have come to know as life.😉

I'm the sort of person who fancys himself as a social extrovert, often leaving others with a positive experience after conversation. ( if not with a business card) Sometimes the conversations lead to information about where to secure certain elements And I, being so well verses in social interactions as it it, am able to insist in granting them what they want.

Yet lately  there is a confusion about my "role".

I've never considered myself the middle man, the connect, the "guy who can get you what you want". Like a character out of a Stephen King novel(Redemption reference). My voice isn't nearly as smooth as Morgan Freeman's for such film narration any way.

Just a buddy that knows and help when asked. Some might try to say enabler but those people have options like everyone else so it's useless in debating that title.

What I present  is the question is a friend a friend when that's the only reason they come around.

Let's break this down.

A connect is:

Normally available to make to make the "move" when needed. Day or night.

Always getting out of the deal regardless of their financial input either from the customer or supplier.

Alone unless they are throwing or attending a social event in which case people tend to rely heavy on their connections to come through.

Often considered and labeled "cool" upon introduction of new people and always asked about the quality as If their word is gospel.

Has more than one supplier.

Often thought to be a lab rat to people who are unwilling to test their own product (which is a awful way to conduct business in this trade)

And last but not least... A connect is never the one that has the source of the supplier only the resources to ....well... Connect.

This is what I have come to see what people expect. A on call  thankless job often forced on the friend who might simply want to just hang out.

Right now you might be asking" But we do hang out when I go by, doesn't that count?" The answer is NO.

That person could have be busy with a whole other thing before you put your request in. Suddenly they have a task need to be handled outside your abilities.

My opinion, be more considerate. A person could start to feel used or even worst foolish if they see the friendship only circles arond that certain task you need.

Don't get  me wrong. If your normally have a reliable source that isn't available, do whatever you gotta do. Just make sure you don't let the friendship grow in a toxic one.
